September was another busy month for visitors – it always happens! So the third set of visitors this month was my sister, Karen, and her husband.
We spent one gorgeous sunny day at the Denver Botanic Gardens. There is a children’s play area with a dirt pit for digging…
With small shelters…where Karen and Elizabeth enjoyed a tea party.
And there is a camping area, a creek with rocks, overlooks, rock tunnels, and so much more in the kids area. So much fun. We hit that first to let Elizabeth expend some energy before strolling the rest of the gardens.
Here Elizabeth is telling Daddy about the duck she saw in the pond.
Of course, there are lovely flowers throughout the gardens…
…but now the visit is always about interacting with what is there, not just ‘looking’.
We explore sculptures…
We touch the water…
We look for Koi Fish…
And if the adults are lucky, we get to sit down!
We do enjoy the DBG. We had bought a Groupon to go on this day, but when we got there it was a FREE day! Awesome, now we have to go back before Thanksgiving to use up those Groupons. :)
Karen and Craig gave Elizabeth an early Birthday present…A big-girl-puzzle with interlocking pieces! Fabulous.
