February and Florida

Florida…here we come!! 

Elizabeth was all ready for the sunshine and beach days before we flew to Fort Lauderdale.  She had her big hat and her snazzy new swim diaper…not to mention shorts and t-shirts and other clothes she had never worn before.

We were so excited to see our dear friends.

Eliz and I took several walks on the beach.  I loved that our rental house was only one block off the ocean…

It also had a nice courtyard area and a back patio for entertaining our guests.  It made it so much more comfortable to have people over and let Eliz lie down in her play pen when she got tired.

It appeared that she loved being outside with nothing on but her diaper.  Granted, she did get a little “sticky” from the humidity, though!

We packed our schedule with get-togethers with friends.  It was great to see everyone, but we had little time to really hang out at the beach.  We didn’t get to play with Eliz in the water because there was a tremendous amount of man-o-wars that had washed up on the beach or were right off the beach.  I didn’t want to risk that with her.

We did have to get her toes wet, though…

Andy’s brother Joe and his wife Dot came down from Orlando to be with us over the weekend.  It was their first time seeing Elizabeth.  She looks awfully comfy, doesn’t she?

Our last day in town we got to relax on the beach for a couple of hours.  Pure heaven…

The rest of the month was a little more chaotic.  Andy went out of town for a week on a business trip (read:  “I was alone at the business and taking care of Elizabeth!!  Aaah!”).  And then when Andy returned, we moved into our new office space.  It was time for us to move the business out of the house; and move Elizabeth out of our bedroom.  It was very time consuming for weeks to move the products and to find furnishings for the office, but it started to become orderly by mid-March.

Elizabeth continues to get more mobile.  She is now rolling from back to tummy, but has forgotten how to roll from tummy to back.  She performs some crazy hip movements that propels her on her back.  For example, we had laid her down in her gym mat shortly before this picture was taken…

Eliz and I celebrated Valentine’s Day together while Andy was out of town.  She’s still getting used to me putting a camera in her face everyday, ha!
