I was trying to get Elizabeth down for her nap. And, as usual, I’m the one lying down on the floor with eyes closed while I hear her pitter patter around the room, reading to herself or quietly playing with toys. Then I hear her say, “Great job Mommy!”
We have had a string of colorful turtles with a bell at the bottom that we were given years and years ago. It was one of those things I gifted to her. Well, with it’s age, a lot of drying out, and a little tugging from Elizabeth everyday it had broken a week earlier. I had found new string and had re-strung these little turtles for her since she loved them so much. When I first tried to show her that I fixed them she had seemed totally disinterested in them. So I just re-hung them where they used to be and forgot. Today, she found them again, and apparently approved of my repair job!
She shows us constant support and encouragement with “Good job Daddy” or “Great job Mommy” which is so funny and sweet.
