Golden, CO – Strolling Clear Creek

I just love walking the path along Clear Creek in Golden.  It’s always so lively.

If you look in the waves just under that small waterfall, you’ll see an upside down kayaker.

The creek is really starting to flow now with the snow melt, so more and more kayakers are out enjoying it.

On this visit, we walked along the path westward past the city campground.  The path becomes a soft-surface trail but is still good for walking or biking.  It takes you into Clear Creek canyon along Hwy 6.  For now it is only several miles long, but there appear to be plans to lengthen it all the way to the Continental Divide.

We tried to reach another trail that was “above” us on the slope of the canyon, but we couldn’t find a connector.  It may be the Chimney Gulch trail and we may have to get on it from town.  A connecting trail would’ve been nice to access that trail when the Clear Creek trail came to a halt.

But it was a gorgeous day to be out.  We’ve been experiencing some 80-degree days now.  A huge surprise since we had two more spring snowstorms around Mother’s Day.  We may not be getting a Spring this year…just jumped right into summer from winter.
