February in Colorado looks a lot different than California. We’re glad to took our vacation this month to get away from the cold, but at the same time it made us realize how much we miss a temperate winter.
Elizabeth did enjoy her first sledding adventure of the year.
She loved wearing Daddy’s hat to keep warm. So much so that I ended up buying her one of these hats as well!
The snow was too dry to make snow balls. But we still tried to throw some at Daddy anyway.
Elizabeth was showered in love at Valentine’s. She got a bag of goodies from her best friend, Lucas, at school. This teddy bear was just one of several sweet items he gave her.
Aunt Boo also showered her with treats, including these glasses and this book. Shortly after this picture was taken she was so sugared up from the other treats that all pictures were blurry. Thanks Boo. ;)
We headed to the beach in late February to see my sister and her husband and my girlfriend and her family. Finally, we had great weather!
I don’t think Andy or Elizabeth stopped smiling for those first few days!
The coastline is so beautiful here in Laguna Beach.
On Elizabeth’s “Must Do as Soon as We Get to The Beach” List – was to bury Daddy in the sand. Which she did.
She was also very eager to see her good friend, Alex. We are seriously wondering if these two will get married someday…Alex says they will!
Here’s Jen and Aquiles.
And just one of the several beautiful sunsets we saw.
We tried to teach Elizabeth about the sealife. She was definitely more interested in the larger mammals – sea lions and whales – than of the tidepool sort we were showing her. But she was very disappointed she didn’t get to see an octopus.
We had taken Elizabeth to the Pacific Marine Mammal Center, a rescue center, and she just loved meeting a sea lion up close. Of course, the volunteer kept it hush hush that the scars all across his mid-section was due to a shark attack. A three-year old doesn’t need to know the details. We checked on their website after our return so we could tell Elizabeth when “Bruce” was successfully returned to the ocean!
It was such a nice trip. Walking distance to the beach. Surrounded by friends and family. Elizabeth with her friend to play with. Sun, sun and more sun! Loved it.
I have more pictures on the February WebAlbums. Unfortunately, however, I lost my camera at the end of the trip…and therefore losing all my pictures from the camera (good thing I used my cellphone camera a lot). I’m not sure, but I think I had pictures from January on this camera and that weren’t uploaded. Bummer.
