October Wrap Up

I’m not sure, but Elizabeth may be the only little kid (let alone girl) who I’ve seen do this.  We’ve gone to this big trampoline centers a couple of times.  Fantastic indoor playgrounds with long stretches of in-floor trampolines and other fun.  Well, she grabbed one of the large race cars and trucks laying around and starting racing them down the padded ramps (used for jumping).  She loves her cars and trucks!  Her girlfriends were swinging on ropes and jumping on trampolines, and I had to laugh at her own little creative play.

We’ve had several people advise us that we should get a sleeping bag for Elizabeth to try and wean her out of our bed.  We still need to lie with her for her to fall asleep, but many nights she’ll come into our bed anywhere from 11pm, 1am, or 4am.  So we did.  We’re exhausted still, even at this age, from constant sleep interruption.  So I ordered her this cool Moose sleeping bag and we placed it at the foot of our bed.  And instructed her to go to the sleeping bag if she needs to come into our room at night.  We’ll let you know how the plan unfolds, but she enjoyed playing in it the first night we set it up!  That’s a good sign!

Happy Halloween!!  We invited Elizabeth’s friends to come trick or treat with us.  Allie, Finley, Liam, and Timothy all came with us.  It was so much fun!  Well, except for the “leadership" battle…three of them wanted to be the leader – be first when walking house to house, be the one to ring the doorbell, and so on.  Oh boy.  Good thing Allie was too tired to care or there would’ve been four of them crying over who gets to go first next!  ha!  Thankfully Finley was big enough to give Elizabeth lots of extra turns.  What a good friend.

But I really liked it because it gave me the opportunity to walk with friends, too.  Stacey, Brian and the girls hung out for awhile in our house afterward, too.  It was refreshing that the three girls would go play on their own and we could have an actual adult conversation.  I’m starting to like this new age…
