Cockerballs

Last night we went out at sunset to a quiet and secluded cul de sac with a view of mountains and our lake.  It is tucked away in a huge development that is under construction.  There were no houses yet – just sidewalks and roads.  It was a great place for Elizabeth to ride her bike around the street with Daddy while I practiced yoga with a view.

We also let her “drive” the car with Daddy.  She sat on his lap and steered while Daddy pushed the pedals.  It was pretty frightening how well she did in turning the car in circles around the cul de sac and responding to our verbal directions of “turn right”, “turn left”, “keep spinning the wheel”, and so on.

All that hard play left her thirsty so on the drive home she asked for “Adegator”.  It took us a second to realize she wanted Gatorade!  Ha!  I love how she mixes up words sometimes.  She knows Gatorade is our go-to drink on hikes and bike rides to quench our thirst.

Another funny word she uses is “cockerballs” – instead of cottonballs.  Currently I have to put drops in Andy’s ears and he sometimes needs a cottonball.  She’s always happy to run and get a cockerball for Daddy.

I’m going to miss these funny sayings.
