Sunrise Ranch Yoga Retreat

A one-night getaway.  I hadn’t been to a yoga retreat before, and when YTOC (Yoga Teachers of Colorado) planned this one night retreat in Loveland at Sunrise Ranch, Andy encouraged both Michelle and I to go.  So after much persuasion (I’m serious – we both felt guilty leaving him to man the office on a Friday and Saturday by himself), we did.

It was wonderful.  Michelle and I took a short hike up the hill behind the ranch after we arrived and unpacked.

The lookout had the big boulders Andy loves.

We had an attunement, which is energy work.  Neither of us had experienced it before.  I enjoy trying and learning about new things.  The ranch is a working ranch, so the food served was straight from their farm including all of the meats. I can appreciate the benefits of that, but…

maybe Suzi, Michelle and I shouldn’t have taken a walk down to the farms.  The pigs and goats were adorable and we all quickly regretted eating bacon that morning!

During the 24 hours, we got together with alot of our fellow teachers, shared thoughts, stories and laughs.  We walked a labrinyth after an outdoor meeting, listened to a enlightening speaker, and enjoyed a bonfire under the stars with group chanting.  We had a sunrise yoga practice and took our walk to the barn before leaving the next day.

It was nice to have a night away with friends and to just relax.  Looking forward to next year’s!
