Can I tell you all how proud I am of my husband? He’s great. Even though his training got thrown off schedule this past month with the news of our upcoming new addition to the family…and even though he couldn’t get his new wetsuit until the week before the race…and even though he had some major reservations about racing unprepared…he DID it! And he did great!
His first triathlon since 2006, we believe. And a triathlon with some new twists: a cold water reservoir swim, a first tri requiring a wetsuit, elevation, dry air, and a “hilly” bike and run. Oh sure, they (the locals) called this a “flat” course, but remember it’s all relative and to native Floridians this course still had hills.
The Cherry Creek Tri was a 800-meter swim, a 13-mile bike, and a 5k run. Fortunately we had good weather and friends from the Arvada Tri Club to help make this event so much fun. The three A’s were together from the beginning: Aaron, Alyson, and Andy.

A couple club members volunteered and Matt and I were spectators cheering them all on.
To see all of the pictures from Andy’s Triathlon. Congrats to Aaron, Alyson and Andy! I’ll have to tell you that I was a little jealous on the day of the race. I just love the energy at these events. And doing these events are what gives purpose to your training. Guess I’ll just have to wait til next year to see how I would rank against my hubby.

That did look hilly! Wow Andy, that took guts. So stinkin' proud of you.
Diane, you're going to have to run him down at that venue next year :) Love.
You know it girlfriend!
