The grand finale of the weeklong FunFest was a spectacular Fireworks show. We didn't get to see the 4th of July fireworks (we were working), but we heard this night has a better show.
It was a wonderful display with both huge, in-the-air explosions, and on-the-ground displays. Lots of "boomers", as we call them. You know - the ones that rock your chest with every 'boom'.
As with all of the other FunFest events we saw this past week - the turnout was surprising. There were thousands (plural!) of people at this event, too. Granted it was right after the Marshall Tucker concert at the same venue, but we were awed by the size of the crowd and the professionalism of the fireworks show.
If you ever travel through this area, you might want to consider timing it with FunFest - I'm sure you'd find several events you'd enjoy. I'm still bummed I missed the Balloon Glow.
