Evergreen, CO - Alderfer/Three Sisters

Last Sunday we took a quick trip to Alderfer/Three Sisters Open Space for a hike in the mountains.  This JeffCo park is just outside Evergreen, which is about a 30-35 min drive away.  We had our choice of, oh I’d say, about 10 parks!  What a pretty area, and so close!

I chose Three Sisters mostly because I had heard the name before (recommended to us for mountain biking), because I didn’t want to take much time researching (since everything is new and exciting anyway), but also because I saw that the park had boulders for scrambling…

I know how much Andy loves to scramble on these big boulders, so it was a perfect place for a short hike.  It took us a couple of hours to go a short two miles on the Three Sisters Trail, with a side trip to Brother’s Lookout for lunch.  We just enjoyed scrambling and soaking in the views at multiple stops.

A little snow left on the trails made it enticing to start a snowball fight…

There’s a couple more photos on our WebAlbums.
